Lent and Easter

Easter is well known inside and outside of the Church. Prior to Easter the Church enters a time of preparation for 40 days called Lent. The season of Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, which fell on February 14 in 2024.

2023 Lenten Worship Services

During Lent 2023, Pastor Kern shared a video series based on Prayer Around the Cross and the Small Catechism. Prayer Around the Cross is a series of prayers and responses developed at Holden Village, an intentional Lutheran community. The hymn, A Mighty Fortress, is based on Psalm 46. Each week the devotion contained music, a call to prayer together, as well as reflection on some aspect of the Small Catechism.
